OverviewSmall Business Litigation and Transaction Lawyer - Austin, TX 78730Job Description: Our attorneys represent small businesses in three roughly equal ways:Transactions: Drafting LLC documents, drafting customer or employee contracts, reviewing vendor contracts and business sale agreements.Conflict Driven Cases: Not yet in litigation but might head there. We handle business “divorces,” breach of contract matters and some commercial collections.Litigation: Cases that are ramped up and at the courthouse.We do not do real estate, estate planning or securities. Over time our relationships with clients often develop into more of an outside general counsel role.Hours and CompensationHours Expectations: Our attorneys bill 6 hours per day, supporting work-life balance (approximately 1,380 hours per year, compared to firms with 1,800–2,000).Salary and Bonuses: Experienced attorneys can start as high as $155,000 with bonuses. Pay is competitive with national firms, with a six-month step-up for less experienced attorneys.
