LERN Center CoordinatorResponsibilitiesAnswering incoming calls from pre-hospital providers and/or statewide emergency departments with regard to movement of LERN identified patientsDirect patient movement by LERN Entry Trauma Criteria using protocol and experience in PHTLS patient careDirect patient transfers to appropriate definitive care facilitiesCollect patient data from receiving hospitals including disposition of patient diagnosis, admission status, visit identification numbersCollect call data from transporting EMS agencies including call run times, case numbers, and additional information as necessaryReceive notifications of Mass Causality Incidents (MCI) statewideNotification of state officials, state agencies, hospitals, and LERN administration in MCI eventsMCI management including direction of patients, management of hospital resources, and continuing notification to affected areas throughout eventFacilitate communication between EMS, hospitals, state officials, ESF-8, and other agencies as necessaryFully understand and apply LERN Protocol when routing patientsData entry of LERN patients in Image Trend DatabaseAttend monthly staff meetings & ongoing LERN trainingKnow geographic regions of state and location of hospitals by memoryUnderstand and implement LERN protocolsInitiates Case Review Process for all LERN patient inquiries including call data research, recording review, and procedure/protocol evaluationUnderstand and follow all LERN and AMR company policiesComplete audits of LCC calls for quality control of call duration, courtesy/professionalism, correct application of procedure/protocol for patient directionOperate phone console equipment in communication with EMS and hospitalsOperate radio console equipment in communication with EMS and hospitalsCare for and troubleshoot LCC equipmentAvailable to work day, night, weekend, and holidays as neededAvailable to work during MCI or natural disaster as neededMaintain necessary certificationsWork with LERN staff and Medical Director when necessaryHave 24 hour call availability in the case of disasters and be on site in the LERN Call Center for the duration of the event with backup coverage as necessaryHave in depth knowledge of EMS protocols, LERN Entry Criteria and available medical resourcesHave functional knowledge of radio, telephone, IP and other necessary forms of communications equipment necessary for the purpose of the LERN Call CenterHave knowledge of performance indicators and quality review indicators pertinent to LERN operationsFollow all rules, regulations, and policies as established by AMR, the LERN and the LERN Call Center Medical DirectorBe knowledgeable of and follow all LERN Call Center Standard Operating ProceduresProtect Patient Confidentiality and adhere to all applicable medical, patient and EMS rulesPerform housekeeping responsibilities to keep the LERN Call Center clean and functionalOther duties as assignedQualificationsCurrent Nationally Registered EMT-P license in good standingCurrent Louisiana state licenseMinimum 2 years’ experience at EMT-P levelStrong communications skillsAbility to type & multi-taskComputer proficient in Word, Excel, and WindowsGeographic knowledge of regions and hospitals throughout state of LouisianaGlobal Medical Response and its family of companies are an Equal Opportunity Employer, which includes supporting veterans and providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with a disability.Check out our careers site benefits page to learn more about our benefit options. #J-18808-Ljbffr
