Assistant Store Manager

OverviewThe Fresh Market is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to be an ambassador of the store, delivering excellent hospitality to guests and team members. In coordination with the Store Manager, you will help strengthen team engagement, maximize team productivity, and contribute to driving business results.Pay range for this position is $26.57 - $33.21 per hour.What You'll DoWith the Store Manager, be a store ambassador and leading example of exemplary hospitality to guests and team members; educate team members and guests on products and services to provide meal solutionsCreate and manage team schedules with the store manager, aligning with guest shopping hours to ensure guests receive an excellent shopping experienceAssist in analyzing sales reports, P&L reports, and other metrics to make and execute business decisions and design plans that drive business successAssist in forecasting and maintaining store teams by collaborating with Store Manager and Talent Acquisition in the sourcing, selecting, and hiring of new team membersAssist the store manager in partnering with the Guest Services Manager to provide team members a hospitable orientation and onboarding experienceAssist with the training of the team through The Fresh Market Academy and on-the-job training to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure mannerCoach team members to optimize operations and further team development and increase retentionAssist in managing the store, inventories and teams for effective minimization of product lossEnsure that your team members are adhering to The Fresh Market standards and policiesManage the store’s social media presence, following The Fresh Market guides and standardsPartner with store and department managers to enhance teamwork and team engagementWith store manager, ensure department adherence to all safety requirements and protocols including food safety per TFM policies and applicable lawsAvailabilityThis position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.QualificationsMinimum requirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5-7 years of retail experience with at least some years in a leadership roleStrong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Proven oral and written communication skills for productive communication with team members, management, and guestsAbility to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandisingAbility to read, understand, and follow policies and proceduresPreferred qualificationsPerishable, hospitality, and/or grocery retail experienceProduction planning software experienceExperience in applicant tracking software (iCIMS preferred)Physical and work conditionsRepetitive hand/arm movements, lifting up to 50 pounds, exposure to extreme temperaturesAbility to use tools and equipment such as knives, ladders, step stools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipmentStand for long periods (up to 4 hours or as required by law)Required to wear approved head coverings or protective equipment as applicableEqual Opportunity StatementThe Fresh Market is an equal-opportunity employer committed to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
