Overview Gold’s Gym SoCal Group seeks a General Manager to lead our clubs and provide world‑class service to members. The role requires deep knowledge of company products and programs and a passion for cultivating a positive club culture. Benefits Work in a fun environment with great people Great benefits package John Hancock 401k Paid Time Off Aflac Supplemental Insurance Free gym membership and discounts Opportunities to learn and grow within the company Qualifications 3–5 years of progressive management experience supervising 3–10 employees with measurable outcomes in employee development and promotion 5–7 years of broad retail/hospitality/operations industry experience with a focus on high team member and/or customer turnover Experience managing P&L, trend reports, and demonstrating strong math and analytical / ratio skills Success in creating new teams or rebuilding teams in a collaborative environment Phenomenal communication skills, oral and written, with a strong emphasis on listening Experience turning around operationally and/or financially deficient departments or teams Demonstrated success managing through defined strategy and delegation High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred CPR and AED certification required Bilingual preferred Responsibilities Assemble and manage a fully engaged membership team aligned with company initiatives and culture Ensure project/department milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved budgets Enforce all club rules, policies and promote proper execution of all procedures Keep the club fully staffed through review of applications, interviewing, and hiring recommendations to the General Manager Drive results and continuous improvement in Service and Fitness categories through strong business acumen, relationship building, and accountability of department leaders Plan, organize, and coordinate daily/weekly/monthly club functions to maximize profit and loss goals with a member‑centric focus Recruit, hire, train, develop and nurture inclusive team members to support member needs Coach and mentor club leaders, demonstrating high performance standards and accountability Problem‑solve obstacles for the team to guarantee outstanding member and team experiences, fostering trust through delegation and empowerment Guide department leaders in goal setting, strategy application, and achievement of club and career targets Collaborate with internal and external partners to continuously grow our member community Physical Requirements The role requires the ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs., and to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. The candidate must maintain a professional demeanor, clear communication, and a clean uniform.
