Job Overview Physician-Primary Care – California State University, Chico In the role of Physician within the WellCat Health Center (WCHC), you will provide comprehensive, student‑focused primary care under the administrative and medical direction of the Lead Physician and Executive Director. The position involves clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, health education, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support student academic success and well‑being. Required Education & Experience Graduation from a medical school and completion of a residency training program in a primary care field such as family medicine, general internal medicine, gynecology, general pediatrics, emergency medicine, or preventive medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or equivalent. Licenses & Certifications Valid and current license to practice medicine in California. Current ABMS or AOA board certification appropriate to the assigned duties. DEA registration and certificate. CPR/AED certification. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a student or university health setting, or with college‑aged populations. Commitment to preventive medicine and health education. Engagement in continuing education, clinical quality improvement, or peer review processes. Compensation & Work Details Time Base: Intermittent / Per DiemPay Plan: 12/12Work Schedule: TBDSalary Range: $81.21 – $137.92 per hour Benefits for Per Diem employees are not included; however, CSU, Chico offers standard benefits such as sick leave, vacation, and health insurance (see employee benefits summary). Additional Requirements Applicants must complete a comprehensive background check, including criminal records, sexual offender registry, and fingerprinting. The role is classified as sensitive, requiring adherence to CSU policy, California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act, FERPA, and HIPAA regulations.
