Platform Engineer – IT Merchandising (Dynamics365 F&O) Costco IT is responsible for the technical future of Costco Wholesale, the world’s third largest retailer. Join our dynamic, fast‑paced team and help build the next‑generation retail environment. Responsibilities Collaborate with delivery pods and architects to improve production deployments and platform operations. Translate high‑level design into low‑level technical design and execute updates based on SLAs. Manage the D365 F&O platform, performing monitoring, patching, and support. Lead code reviews, design reviews, testing, debugging, and automated regression testing. Conduct regular D365 platform checkups and report inefficiencies to stakeholders. Work with infrastructure and provisioning groups to stand up the platform. Build scalable frameworks to support integration of internal and third‑party APIs. Analyze existing platform components to identify improvements in software development processes. Develop and implement Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions. Ensure application and infrastructure architectural solutions are stable, secure, and compliant with company standards. Configure, implement, customize, and test software and hardware; document defects and review error logs. Interface with Info Security, Merchandise Platform Engineer, Architect, DevOps Engineer, Data Engineer, Cloud Tech, and third‑party vendors. Drive governance by designing, developing, implementing, supporting, and documenting enterprise policies and procedures. Research, recommend, and adopt changes for system growth (on‑prem and cloud). Identify and resolve problems proactively, managing incident resolution efficiently. Manage virtual servers, including provisioning, upgrading, installing, monitoring, and performance optimization. Remediate platform issues and bottlenecks impacting development activities. Support creation of documentation for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance. Implement security management practices and promote awareness of current threats. Create queries, programs, scripts, and reports supporting change control policies. Work in an Agile environment, collaborating with Operations, Development, and QA to build scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions. Support authoring and execution of test cases related to platform development. Participate in DevOps, Agile, and continuous integration frameworks. Mentor team members and serve as an educational resource. Required Qualifications 6+ years of IT experience with at least 3 years in product implementation and hands‑on cloud technical activities. Experience with application administration (installation, configuration, and management of Windows and cloud‑based systems). Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and dashboarding tools (Splunk, Azure Health Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, Azure Application Insights, etc.). Proficiency with cloud services, Windows OS, shell scripting, package management, and related utilities. Experience with version control and automation tools (Azure DevOps, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins, etc.). Working knowledge of React Native, GraphQL, Node.js. Experience with D365 F&O implementations. Experience with IaaS, PaaS, and cloud solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented with strong organization and documentation skills. Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to issues. Ability to support off‑hours work (weekends, holidays, 24/7 on‑call rotations). Recommended Qualifications BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Experience with at least one scripting language. Experience with Azure SQL DB, Oracle, DB2, MySQL, Synapse, Cosmos, Table Storage, etc. Azure Cloud experience and certifications. Knowledge of Azure Bus Topics and Queue. Proven expertise in performance tuning and capacity planning. Understanding of configuration and change management best practices. Proficiency in Google Workspace applications.
