Summary The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing training program content, including eLearning courses and support. This position will participate in the design of a variety of technical, operational, and soft skills training programs focusing on areas including process implementation and changes, policy and procedures, compliance requirements, and related initiatives. The Instructional Designer collaborates with other instructional design staff to identify, develop, arrange and deliver effective training solutions and reference materials for employees. The Instructional Designer provides backup support of Georgia’s Own learning management system (LMS). This position is hybrid, working remote and at Main Office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develops training curricula, materials, and programs (including online training, and other technologies) to meet specific training/learning solutions needs. Deliver knowledge, skill and ability training, and/or other required training using a variety of techniques including online training, and other technologies. Identify and assess training/learning solutions needs of assigned business units to develop business line and/or corporate-wide training and learning solutions to support critical business objectives. Support business line training initiatives. Evaluate the effectiveness of existing training programs and learning solutions and make improvements or design replacements, to update current curriculum as necessary. Adheres to the annual departmental budget. Serves as the backup to the LMS Administrator and supports the installation of all system updates and upgrades, as well as tools and software integrated with the LMS. Assists in the support, design, development, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of content, assets, and other resources used for instructional functions. Provides backup assistance for all general, user management, and troubleshooting needs associated with the organization’s LMS. Monitors and identifies personal/professional development needs and maintains capabilities consistent with the organization’s norms, philosophy and values through special project assignments, technical workshops and seminars; reading, reflection, course work, and development opportunities and activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Educational and Work Experience Requirements Two years of experience designing and deploying employee training content. Degree or professional certification with a focus on Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or Learning and Technology. Must have thorough understanding of all Credit Union Policies. Must have strong communication skills, with the ability to interact comfortably with all levels of Credit Union staff. Must be able to adapt well to different learning styles and personalities. Must have positive demeanor to reflect the Credit Union in a professional and respectable manner at all times. Additional/Important Skillsets Current knowledge of Adult Learning Theory. Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills. Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods. Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives. Ability to design and implement effective training and development. Physical Requirements To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. All employees must be able to communicate face to face or through technology with or without reasonable accommodation. Employee will be in an office environment (well-lighted, heated, and air-conditioned) typically stationed at a desk or table. Employee will be asked to sit and stand for various increments of time, and to lift/push up 10 lbs. Clerical office duties on various forms of technology are required. All positions that have lending responsibilities must comply with all requirements under the SAFE ACT, as well as the Credit Union’s policies and procedures related to the SAFE ACT. The employee must notify the Credit Union within 30 days of any changes that need to be reflected on the NMLS registry.
