Personnel Security Specialist

DescriptionSAIC is seeking an experienced Personnel Security Officer to support the customer's Office of Security. This position will be responsible for Automated Records Check (ARC) Support.This position can quickly adjudicate a polygraph for those with an active TS/SCI. Candidates must have an active TS/SCI to be considered for this role.ResponsibilitiesProvide support and maintenance to established PERSEC programs.Ensure ARC team members are provided timely security support to Personnel Security's internal and external tasking's, projects, and programs.Support the execution of the day-to-day customer PERSEC ARC program.Provide agency level technical expertise concerning the personnel security disciplines and standard operating procedures.Responsible for training ARC contractor staff, as needed.Prepare, support and administer PERSEC program briefings, as needed.Prepare, write, and present reports/whitepapers, various forms of correspondence, as required.Research, prepare, and maintain policies/procedures for the customer's PERSEC ARC Team.Brief customer leadership and other customer's key components regarding the program requirements and regulations.Appropriately and accurately maintain and update databases and files (e.g., PeopleSoft security system of records, SharePoint Page, internal file folders, and other secure sites) with data entry in a timely manner/real time.Respond in a timely manner to all telephone and/or email actions, questions, or status inquiries to include checks of internal and external personnel security databases.Assist in maintaining distribution lists for customers to contact PERSEC, as needed/required.Bring case security issues to the attention of the Government Team Leads.Assist the government PERSEC team to help in developing recommendations for improvement.Provide service excellence in guidance and resolution to internal and external customers' questions and inquiries in a timely manner for support to their programs.Utilizes a variety of security concepts, principles and practices to analyze and recommend solutions for difficult and complex security issues.Document and provide Weekly Activity Report (WAR) actions in the designated template and timeline to the Government Team Lead.Document, file, and maintain all actions in the security system of record.Complete all actions within the mandated timelines.Collect, investigate, research, document, and forward to adjudications, as applicable, all adjudicative relevant information received through ARC for employees and contractors, in the mandated timelines.Follow-up as appropriate to ensure timely action on all ARC events.Prepare accurate and quality reports of investigation, as needed.Submit appropriate documentation to applicable databases to complete the ARCs in less than 30 days.Prepare the ARC report using the established template, annotating action in the investigations module in PeopleSoft or other databases of record, as required.Conduct and support Special Agency Checks (SAC) for spouse or cohabitant, annotating action in PeopleSoft or other databases of record, as required.Skills and Experience RequiredActive TS/SCI requiredAbility to obtain a polygraphBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field to personnel securitySignificant experience in personnel security (7-10 years) in the DOD/ICDemonstrate experience with reviewing Standard Form-85/86 and understand scoping requirementsUnderstand and be able to analyze the security repositories.DesiredExperience with determining if electronic fingerprint results are classifiableUnderstand the requirements and PII needed for completing a Special Agency Check for a spouse or cohabitant #J-18808-Ljbffr
