Buyer - Manufacturing

Our client, a nationwide leader in custom rubber manufacturing, has an immediate need for an experienced Buyer / Purchaser, to join their winning team in Hamburg.



Our candidate of choice will be responsible for planning and executing the purchasing of raw materials, components, and finished goods. You will work with suppliers to determine which products will be used in production and how much of each item should be purchased.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitors and reviews ERP demand planning signals as pull-ins, pushouts, cancellations, adjusts supplier P.O.s and Production Schedules accordingly and as required, notifies Sales of potential delivery and / or cost impacts to customers.
Communicates with suppliers by requesting quotes and placing purchase orders according to ERP requirements. Conducts supplier performance evaluations. Identifies new suppliers or the need for additional suppliers. Coordinates with Quality supplier audits as required.
Manages inventory by understanding and maintaining the minimum / maximum and lead-time requirements for all raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory and reports on the status of inventory levels against inventory targets.



KEY REQUIREMENTS:

College degree in related field such as business administration and/or supply chain management.
Must be a US citizen or have the ability to obtain US citizenship status.
2-4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working in an ERP system (Microsoft, Oracle, EPICOR, SAP or similar).
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite of products: Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access
Experience creating presentations, reports and KPI management.
