You are right at the heart of our business. The sales function is fundamental to driving growth. You understand the next‑generation users’ wishes, work in cross‑functional teams to translate those wishes into reality, and collaborate with R&D, product development and production. You help launch new products and services and translate customers’ dreams into impactful solutions that keep us ahead of the market. What you’ll do This role will be responsible for the attainment of division and corporate goals for sales growth and profitability through market development, effective direction and management of direct sales staff and sales agencies. Drive brand awareness with architects, lighting designers, engineers, distributors and contractors in the Northeast region. Work with manufacturer representatives and Cooper counterparts to spec/sell a lighting solution. Coordinate with the National Sales Manager to establish realistic goals for the market consistent with overall division goals of growth and profitability. Promote and maintain successful and profitable business relationships with current and potential customers. Analyze sales levels and trends through market research and initiate proactive or corrective actions as required to assure attainment of objectives. Ensure appropriate technical guidance and assistance regarding product applications is available to customers. Work closely with, develop and coordinate activities with application service departments within Cooper and agency partners to develop world‑class specification support. Promote and market company strategy through customer interaction at industry groups including speaking at conventions and tradeshows. Serve as the “Voice of the Customer” by making recommendations and supplying feedback to Product Management and Engineering teams to ensure products meet and exceed customer expectations. What you’ll need Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years of sales or marketing management experience. 3 years of electrical products industry preferred/lighting or controls industry experience. Experience in identified market segments preferred. Well‑developed communication, organizational, motivational and human relations skills. Located in the territory and ideally sitting in Chicago.
