Shift: Full time (40 hours) – Night Shift: 11:30 pm–8:00 am – Weekend rotations. ***Will Consider Clinical Laboratory Scientist I, II or III*** Position Summary Performs a variety of routine and complex clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established standards and procedures, requiring professional level knowledge to execute and analyze results, especially where results are abnormal or atypical. Specific duties may vary according to laboratory and shift assigned. Education Formal educational background in chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, and microbiology normally acquired through a two‑ or four‑year post‑secondary program in clinical laboratory technology/medical technology or equivalent education and training in microbiology, chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, or a related field. BS degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Lab Science preferred. Work Experience Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology internship or one‑year equivalent clinical lab experience or coursework specific to the discipline. Role intended for individuals with less than two years of experience and for all BS/MT and equivalent degree candidates without the equivalent certification/registration (but with eligibility to sit for certification exam). Promotion to this position for current staff via advancement when AA/MLT degree and certified/registered CLS 1’s achieve a rating of 2 (proficient) or greater on the second annual performance evaluation. For this level, the AA degreed employee must demonstrate Med Tech/Medical Lab Science/Clinical Lab Science certification accepted by the Department of Pathology. Salary Range: Minimum $24.54/hour – Maximum $52.69/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
