The Deputy Director will support development and implementation of a comprehensive corporate fundraising strategy in collaboration with the Director, Corporate Partnerships and the 16 programs and centers to grow new partnerships and to mature existing relationships. The successful candidate will have experience in fundraising or business development in a dynamic team environment. Specific experience working with corporations in the technology and artificial intelligence (AI) sectors is required. Candidate must have excellent proposal development, project management, and communication skills with a solid understanding of corporate relationship management. The ideal candidate will have an interest and experience in international affairs and foreign policy and be able to navigate a fluid, innovative environment with diplomacy and ease. This position is based in our Washington, DC, headquarters, requiring a minimum of 4 days per week in office. The Atlantic Council offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, education, and organizational equity, with offers from $125,000 to $150,000. Job Responsibilities Lead in creating a portfolio of strategic, high-value corporate sector partners with a focus on technology and artificial intelligence-focused companies. In close coordination with programs and centers, manage the development, growth, stewardship, support, and renewal activities related to key corporate partnerships, meeting or exceeding established annual goals. Team goal is $10M. Individual goal is $1.5M. Represent the Council at domestic and international conferences, events, forums, and meetings, advocating for its objectives and building the organization's visibility within the assigned portfolio area. Work directly with programs and centers to understand their goals and translate that work into a strong value proposition for prospective corporate partners. Communicate effectively, both internally and externally, to ensure strong business development coordination among programs and centers. Identify new opportunities for revenue generation, programmatic partnerships, sponsorship, and strategic corporate alliances to drive growth. Develop, nurture, and close revenue opportunities. Report and inform management on pipeline performance. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, including member companies, key partners, and relevant institutions. Support the Director, Corporate Partnerships with strategy development and financial oversight. Collaborate with the engagement team to create compelling messaging and materials to promote the association's initiatives, events, and value propositions. Develop and maintain proposals that are high-quality, accurate, responsive to the Atlantic Council's research priorities and donor guidelines, approved for submission, in compliance with the Council's policies, and submitted to prospective corporations in advance of deadlines. Create annual stewardship plans for current, lapsed, and prospective corporate partners. Maintain complete records on the assigned relationships, results, and campaign activities using analytical tools. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred. Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in development, business development, marketing or related experience; international fundraising and/or special events experience preferred. Minimum 6 years of experience working with technology and artificial intelligence-focused companies. Self-starter and results-oriented individual who can meet tight deadlines and work in a fluid, dynamic, and evolving environment. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to negotiate, interpret and fulfill terms of a partnership agreement. Willingness to learn, lead, and act. Excellent interpersonal skills, including tact, flexibility, professionalism, and discretion. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT) required; experience with Salesforce preferred or other CRM preferred. Experience using Adobe InDesign and/or Acrobat to edit documents preferred.
