Job Overview

The Broker II plays a key role in ensuring efficient transportation of freight by covering loads, building strong carrier relationships, and addressing customer needs with an unwavering commitment to service. This role involves creating accurate quotes, sourcing carrier capacity, and negotiating competitive pricing to meet business objectives. You will work closely with team members to track and trace shipments, address customer requirements with a high level of detail, and follow best practices for truckload operations. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to cross-sell services like LTL and expedited shipping within the existing customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare customer quotes for review by the Team Leader.

- Source and secure carrier capacity to cover loads and build lasting carrier relationships.

- Track and trace shipments in coordination with team members.

- Negotiate rates with carriers and manage pricing agreements.

- Serve customers with a proactive, detail-oriented approach, especially in appointment scheduling and load details.

- Cross-sell additional logistics services such as LTL and expedited options.

- Identify and apply accessorial charges when necessary.

- Achieve annual revenue and margin targets.

- Support additional team initiatives as required.

**Qualifications:**

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

- 1-3 years in logistics or related industry.

- Strong negotiation skills with a tenacious, professional, and adaptive mindset.

- Effective communicator with experience in carrier, customer, and team interactions.

- Computer proficiency in MS Office, TMS systems, and basic pricing calculations.

- Analytical skills and Excel experience are advantageous.
