You will build systems that turn climate data and models into outputs that help people and organizations act with confidence. Whether it is a risk dashboard for a global supply chain or a yield forecast for a farm halfway around the world, your work will blend technical solutions with real-world impact.We combine the latest advancements in transformer-based AI, geospatial data processing, machine learning, and agronomic process-based models to simplify decision-making for our customers. We're looking for experienced engineers with a strong foundation in building and shipping software—and a desire to push their skills further in these areas.You'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, climate scientists, researchers, and product leaders who share a strong sense of urgency and purpose.We are growing our in-person presence at our new San Francisco, CA office and are looking for engineers excited to build things.You can help shape a more resilient future, if you choose to act.At ClimateAi, we value engineers who bring depth in their craft and curiosity beyond it. As a Staff Software Engineer– Fullstack, you will play a key role in shaping both the systems we build and the teams that build them. You will help guide product direction, mentor other engineers, and contribute to cross-functional efforts that span across the organization.This role blends hands-on development with technical leadership. You will work across the stack, from backend services to frontend interfaces, while collaborating with data scientists, designers, and domain experts to ensure our platforms are scalable, resilient, and easy to build on. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, elevating the work of others, and building technology with real-world impact.We're building a new version of our platform from the ground up. As such, we're looking for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, is excited by the opportunity to shape foundational architecture and workflows, and wants to play a central role in making key technical decisions that will influence the product for years to come.Desired Background8+ years of software engineering experience, including time in a senior or staff-level roleProven ability to design and scale complex, distributed systemsFullstack development experience across backend (e.g., Python, Go, Node.js) and frontend technologies (e.g., React, TypeScript)Strong architectural thinking and long-term system design skillsExperience leading cross-functional projects and setting technical directionExperience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP), including designing, deploying, and monitoring production systemsComfortable taking on DevOps responsibilities in a small engineering team environment (CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, observability)Track record of mentoring and leveling up other engineersClear communicator who can align technical decisions with product goalsBonus (not required):Familiarity with climate data, geospatial systems, or AI/ML integrationExperience in an early stage start upCompensationThe base compensation range for employees based in the US is $150,000-240,000 and equity in line with experience and company stage.
