Concrete Finisher Job Description As a Concrete Finisher, you will be responsible for the placement and surface preparation of concrete to meet project requirements. You will ensure that the concrete surfaces are finished to the required standards and specifications before curing. Responsibilities Positioning on concrete forms and moving the pump hose or concrete bucket into place for pouring. Leveling the top surface of freshly poured concrete on floors, walls, ceilings, or sidewalks to meet thickness and flatness tolerances. Applying a bull float to smooth the surface and bring moisture to the top. Applying hardening and sealing compounds for waterproofing, damp-proofing, and restoring concrete surfaces. Installing anchor bolts, steel plates, and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete. Operating a trowel to finish the surface when the concrete has reached a semi-cured status. Promoting a safe work environment and communicating job site hazards. Ensuring materials are properly distributed, and the site is maintained. Securing the job site at the end of the day and verifying proper storage of materials. Essential Skills Concrete finishing Use of hand tools and power trowels Finishing slabs Applying bull floats Leveling concrete surfaces Installing anchor bolts and steel plates Operating trowels Additional Skills & Qualifications Valid Drivers License, required. Follow safe work practices in accordance with the safety and health program. Experience with constructing and placing concrete forms. Ability to take initiative. Keen attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Provide own safety footwear. Effective and professional communication skills. Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills. Reliability and punctuality. Experience in construction layout, blueprint reading, and shop drawing reading (preferred). OSHA 10 Certification (preferred). Why Work Here? Work Environment Work is conducted on a new Lifetime Fitness construction site spanning 15 acres, with a 120,000 square feet building over two stories and 640 parking spaces. The work environment is labor-intensive and requires the use of various tools and equipment. Proper safety attire, including safety footwear, is mandatory.
