Roskam Foods is a leading food manufacturer known for quality, innovation, and efficiency. We are seeking a Manufacturing Operations Intern to support our production teams in improving processes, increasing efficiency, and implementing solutions on the production floor. This internship provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist with process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor.
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment and processes.
  • Capture step-by-step instructions, safety protocols, and best practices to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Take photos/videos (where permitted) to enhance SOP clarity and training effectiveness.
  • Conduct tests and trials to validate SOP effectiveness and revise as needed.
  • Assist in training and onboarding employees on updated SOPs.
  • Collect and analyze data on production performance, identifying areas for efficiency improvements.
  • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and process-related issues to minimize downtime.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, maintenance, quality) to ensure best practices in manufacturing.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects to reduce waste and improve workflow.
  • Help develop training materials and support operators in adopting new processes or technologies.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to engineering challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); CAD experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus
