Position Description

Overview

Manage VDC/BIM technologies with internal and external teams on new and existing projects for pre-construction and field teams coordination.

Position Description

Senior VDC/BIM Engineers responsibilities and abilities include but are not limited to the list below.

Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D (Specifically surfaces, alignments, assemblies, corridors, etc.)

Proficient with Autodesk AEC Suite, Trimble suite (Tekkla, TBC, Connect) and/or Bentley software.

Understand the means and methods of construction of underground utilities, industrial/water/wastewater piping, earthwork, and concrete structures and use that knowledge to guide the development of BIM models and surface models.

Assist in the coordination of models both internally and externally.

Review BIM models and provide constructability and construction sequence feedback.

Model underground utilities and MEP systems.

Model concrete building for lift drawings, rebar shop drawings and concrete formwork.

Perform takeoffs from the model to assist pre-construction and field teams.

Periodically travel to project sites to coordinate with on-site project staff and maintain familiarity with project site conditions.

Experience leading a team of VDC/CAD drafters.

Work with VDC Lead

Assumes additional responsibilities as directed.

Maintain working knowledge of all programs and platforms required for role.

Experience with creating and maintaining object library

Willingness to learn company design methods procedures and take directions.

Position Requirements

Software Experience Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

o bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent combinations of technical training, and/or related experience.

o 5+ years' experience of industry experience.

o 3+ years' experience 3D modeling concrete structures using Revit or Tekkla structure.

o 5+ years' experience 3D modeling utility networks, trenching and excavations in Civil 3D, Open Roads Design, Trimble Business Center, Revit or Agtek.

o 5+ years' experience providing BIM coordination services on major and complex projects using coordination platforms such as Navisworks, Trimble Connect, Revizto or Autodesk Construction Cloud to collaborate on projects.

o Experienced in leading VDC teams

o Experience in 4D schedule using Synchro, Navisworks or CmBuilder.

o Advanced Microsoft Office and Bluebeam expertise required.

o Some knowledge of additional BIM related software is a plus.

o Experience in reality capture and managing laser scanning platforms (Faro, Trimble, NavVis, Leica)

o Computer Programming (Revit and AutoCAD API) experience a plus.

o Dynamo and C# language experience are a plu

o Problem solving, troubleshooting and training capabilities.

o Dashboard and data analysis capabilities are a plus (PowerBi, Tableau, Domo, etc.)
