DescriptionIf you are a team player with a passion to drive your career in Bridge Design, Popli Design Group (PDG) is the place for you PDG is seeking a Team Leader to add to our growing and talented Bridge Design team.As a Team Leader specializing in Bridge design, your role will include managing a team of bridge design staff, managing projects, preparation of proposals, preparing complete project documents for transportation projects; reviewing complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance; and coaching junior staff in the preparation of design calculations, design details, specifications and cost estimates.Responsibilities:Manages a team of Bridge Design staffManages Bridge Design projectsManages the preparation of design calculations and detailsManages the preparation of contract plans and specificationsManages the preparation of construction cost estimatesManages the review of construction submittalsPerforms occasional field visits to collect data and evaluate existing conditionsPerforms occasional field visits to resolve construction issuesPerforms oral presentations on technical topics to the public and other engineersParticipates in business development activitiesMentors lower level staffRequired Skills:Possesses advanced knowledge of applicable engineering principals and techniquesEffectively expresses thoughts and ideas both verbally and in writing in the English languageProficient in the use of applicable computer softwarePerforms assigned tasks accurately and efficientlyIs an active and supportive team memberUnderstands basic safety requirementsAble to lead multiple projectsAble to manage a team of Bridge Design staffValid Driver’s LicenseExperience:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering10 or more years of progressive experience in the fieldProfessional Engineer (PE)Work Environment:Professional office environmentOccasional work outside of the office at project sitesTravels occasionally within NY State and surrounding areasInteracts with other PDG personnel and clientsReceives training and mentoring when necessaryPhysical Demands:Must physically be able to perform field inspection work, e.g., carry/climb ladders, wade in streams, work around traffic, work at heights, etc.This job requires prolonged periods of sitting at a computerThis job requires the ability to lift up to 25lbsAbout Popli Design Group (PDG)PDG is a well-established multi-disciplinary architecture and engineering firm that has been serving clients since 1982.
