Senior Systems Financial Analyst

Position Summary The Senior Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing all financial systems and tools to support the organization's accounting and reporting needs. This role acts as a bridge between Finance and IS, ensuring system solutions align with business goals and comply with regulatory standards. The analyst leads system upgrades, implementations, integrations, and provides advanced support to finance users. Principal Responsibilities SAP Month End Financial Close Activities: Manage and coordinate the monthly financial system close processes, including quarterly and yearly responsibilities with our Shared Service functional areas. Provide implementation and application technical/functional support in the SAP FI‑CO module focused on core finance components such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger Accounting, Fixed Assets, and Cost Center Accounting. Maintain SAP tables and processes that support the automation of Financial Reporting and ensure adherence to guidelines. Manage access to Financial Systems for Finance and other users, providing training on modules or databases. Generation and troubleshooting of assigned daily & monthly financial processing jobs and Manage SAP Security Roles for Record to Report through our SAP Attestation Review Cycles. Provide information retrieval for external and internal audits and other data requests, including validation of data for systems such as SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP CO‑PA, SAP PM, SAP HANA/ECCS. Ensuring data integrity throughout our financial systems and creating report templates for customer needs. Administer & update Standard Operating Procedures approval cycles done bi‑annually with our Shared Service Center via MS Power‑Automate. Compile, analyze and revise a variety of financial data; review data to identify errors, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and communicate findings to system users. Administration of Financial Master Data and complex database structures for all financial systems, primarily in SAP. Integrate and support our Off‑Shore Team and Key Stakeholders on all finance processes & systems. Apply best practice approaches to solution implementation and liaise with Finance technical resources to deliver FICO related solutions. Design and develop reports, dashboards, and tools for financial analysis and decision‑making. Oversee testing, change management, and documentation related to system enhancements and upgrades. Generate management, project status, and ad‑hoc reports and lead meetings to provide strategic vision for technical concerns. Create detailed design documents meeting Messer and BPO business, operational and IS security requirements. Own complex master data objects in ERP systems and play an active role in system development of SAP or other systems that interface with the General Ledger. Analyze and interpret complex business and functional requirements, translate to technical requirements, and recommend solutions that meet Messer business needs. Ensure established deadlines are met while reinforcing quality standards and following Messer software development methodology. Required Skills & Experience Record to Report Functional (Finance, Accounting) Technical with SAP R/3/HANA. Strong analytical, technical design, programming, and SAP maintenance skills including troubleshooting and debugging. Experience with FI modules and CO modules such as CO‑PA, plus other SAP configuration points. Knowledge of General Accounting Processes and their integration with Record to Report. Advanced MS O365 skills (Excel, Visio, Access, Power‑Automate, Teams, SharePoint) and proficiency with Visual Basic, MSSQL Server, and project management tools such as MS Project, MS Planner, Smartsheet. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and ability to quickly understand user needs and troubleshoot effectively. Adaptability to a demanding environment and efficient quick learning. Independent work and management of competing priorities and deadlines. Basic Qualifications BS/BA in Accounting or Finance or related field; advanced degree a plus. 7–10 years working in Finance/IT areas. Preferred Qualifications IT Financial Systems Management & Reporting Experience. 5 years or more of experience with SAP ERP. Prior experience working in a financial environment with third‑party BPO provider. Excellent analytical, technical design, and SAP maintenance experience in Finance and Controlling modules. Proven project management skills, particularly systems implementation as functional user.
