Senior Property Accountant

Job Title: Senior Property Accountant Location: Chicago, IL Base Pay Range: $85,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr Benefits: Excellent benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and more We’re seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Property Accountant to join our accounting team. This position plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of a diverse portfolio of commercial retail properties. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of property accounting. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for assigned commercial and mixed-use properties Perform monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations, and general ledger account analysis Review and code invoices; ensure proper accruals and classification of expenses Maintain rent rolls, track tenant billings, and reconcile accounts receivable Prepare annual budgets, CAM reconciliations, and year-end audit support Tax preparation Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 2+ years of property accounting (commercial and retail industry required) Strong understanding of GAAP Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Yardi software Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally This is a great opportunity to join a well-established company with a solid reputation, competitive compensation, and a supportive team environment.
