The GCC Shop Repair Technician WS 2 safely works alone, or as part of a crew/team, to troubleshoot and repair construction and transportation equipment.

  • Displays a working knowledge of equipment and demonstrates the ability to safely operate and test equipment; and to evaluate equipment condition to ensure that it is in proper operating condition. Displays a thorough knowledge of engine, drive train, electrical, and hydraulic systems for construction and transportation equipment.
  • Utilizes basic parts and installation manuals to identify and assemble components in an efficient manner.
  • Timely and consistently reviews, completes, and submits all required paperwork.
  • The GCC Repair Technician identifies and utilizes the proper tools and safety equipment necessary to complete routine assignments.
  • Maintains tools, work area, and company vehicles in a safe and orderly condition.
  • As an authorized GCC driver, must maintain a valid driver's license. The GCC Shop Repair Technician will be a student and a teacher.
  • Seeks knowledge, with a culture of continual learning, though all available resources, including industry and professional associations
  • Serves as a mentor and a coach to other team members. Safely works on assignments that are semi- routine in nature.
  • Normally receives no instructions on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.

Work Environment: Outdoor

Physical Requirements:
Stand or walk for long periods; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects; lift and carry materials weighing 25 to 100 lbs.; climb up and down, carrying tools and equipment; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, and see (naturally or with correction). Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold).

Education Guidelines: HS Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Experience Guidelines: 2 + years repair technician experience preferred.

Knowledge Guidelines: Basic reading, writing, addition and subtraction skills.
