This role works under close supervision and follows established processes to execute purchasing transactions, maintain accurate ERP data, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to support material availability.The Buyer I serves as a support liaison between suppliers, project teams, operations, and warehouse personnel. The role contributes to operational continuity by creating purchase orders, assisting with quote collection and basic analysis, tracking order status, and escalating routine procurement issues to more senior buyers. This position helps ensure accurate ERP documentation, timely material delivery, and consistent execution of Moss\' purchasing standards across the electrical procurement function.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupport day-to-day purchasing activities for assigned materials, including creating POs, securing basic confirmations, and tracking delivery statusAssist and organize supplier quotes for recurring, commodity, and project-based purchases in accordance with established guidelineReview purchase requisitions for completeness (descriptions, quantities, required dates) and obtain clarifications from requestors as neededPerform basic comparisons of supplier quotes (price, lead time, standard terms) and provide summaries or recommendations to Buyer II or the Purchasing and Operations ManagerMaintain regular communication with project teams, operations, and warehouse staff to support material availability and alignment with project schedulesUse established reports and tools to help monitor inventory levels for assigned items and prepare replenishment POs under the direction of more senior buyersAssist in resolving routine delivery, quality, or invoice discrepancies in coordination with suppliers, warehouse, project teams, and Accounts Payable, escalating non-routine issues as appropriateEnsure ERP data accuracy by entering and updating pricing, lead times, supplier information, and PO details; attach relevant documentation and follow defined coding and documentation standardsAdhere to purchasing policies, approval limits, and compliance requirements to support effective controls and audit readinessSupport cost-reduction, process improvement, and spend visibility initiatives by identifying transactional issues, providing input on process gaps, and assisting with basic purchasing reportsBuild professional working relationships with suppliers through timely, clear, and courteous communication consistent with Moss\' valuesParticipate in training and development activities to build knowledge of electrical and solar materials, Moss\' procurement processes, and fundamental commercial conceptsPerform other related duties as assignedEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCEBachelor\'s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred.0-2 years of procurement, purchasing, or related experience; experience within construction, manufacturing, or energy sectors preferredExposure to supplier interaction and procurement workflows (e.g., quote requests, PO processing, order follow-up) preferredExperience with ERP or purchasing systems preferredFoundational analytical skillsAttention to detail and data accuracyProblem-solving and adaptabilitySupplier communication and relationship buildingCross-functional collaboration and communicationJOB TITLE: BUYER IJOB LOCATION: FORT LAUDERDALE, FLCLASSIFICATION: FULL TIME - EXEMPT - SALARIEDREPORTS TO: PURCHASING AND OPERATIONS MANAGER - ELECTRICAL PROCUREMENTMoss is an equal opportunity employer.
