As a Principal Product Manager - MAI Monetization, you will help businesses that want to grow and expand their business using our products, data, and services through advertising and new business models that unlock AI‑first products. This role requires consistent knowledge and deep awareness of the emerging AI industry to develop new products as we have the freedom and flexibility to use innovative technology in service of our customer. We work within Microsoft AI (MAI), an organization responsible for Copilot, Bing, Edge, MSN, and other AI‑first products. The organization has all the ingredients needed for success with Product, Engineering, Research, and Go To Market functions partnering as peers with shared goals. This enables close collaboration and rapid decision making. We work closely with talented engineers, designers, marketers, creatives, customers, partners, and go‑to‑market teams to design and develop products tailored for our customer’s benefit. Starting January 26, 2026, MAI employees are expected to work from a designated Microsoft office at least four days a week if they live within 50 miles (U.S.) or 25 miles (non-U.S., country‑specific) of that location. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction. Responsibilities Drive building world‑class AI applications that will delight consumers and deliver business results. Own the development and optimization of personalization strategies for monetization, focusing on improving user targeting, engagement, and experience. Define principles for personalized experiences in monetization scenarios, work on building product features that enhance personalization, and manage the full lifecycle from development to launch and iterative improvements. Enjoy working in a fast‑paced, customer‑first, product development cycle. Translate business goals into strategy, user experience and technical requirements in close collaboration with Applied Science, Data Science, Engineering, UX and Product Marketing/Sales teams. Define goals and performance indicators, set up and oversee experiments, measure success with data and research. Embody our Culture and Values. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience. 2+ years experience leading cross‑functional product teams across advertising, privacy, search, conversational AI, or generative AI. 5+ years experience delivering products that include full Search and/or Advertising technology stack. 5+ years experience with data analytics and experimentation tools with working knowledge of SQL and coding skills (Python, Javascript). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and 15+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience. 7+ years of experience building Ads products. 5+ years of experience in monetization products and B2B. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing requirements and deadlines. Proven ability to collaborate and contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment, fostering knowledge sharing and growth within the team. Compensation Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year. Product Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
