Discover more about Milliken’s curious minds and inspired solutions at Milliken.com.Job DescriptionThe Control Equipment Technician (CET) is responsible for performing general and preventive maintenance on the controls, electrical & mechanical systems on the equipment.OverviewThe CET is responsible for responding to equipment breakdowns and/or trouble calls from the manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will have good problem-solving skills, knowledge and experience with mechanical, electrical, and controls maintenance of industrial processes.Primary job functions include reactive/preventive electrical and mechanical maintenance of production and auxiliary equipment. Additionally, the CET will be assigned to project work as determined by area engineers via work orders from SAP. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to PLCs, drives, switchgear, breakers, contactors, and all mechanical aspects. Will on occasion be responsible for boilers, chiller, cooling tower operations when assistance is needed.Schedule1st shiftJob RequirementsComplete demonstrated skill progression targets at expected rate.Actively participate in the Live Oak Complex safety process, complying with all safety rules and procedures.Work the scheduled hours and be available for after hour support on weekends/evenings as required.Able to interact effectively with management, staff, vendors, customers, and work independently, and/or as part of a team.Required General SkillsStrong problem-solving, technical and analytical skills.Proven ability to function in a self-directed environment.Must excel in a fast-paced, agile environment where critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills are required for success.Innovative thinker who is positive, proactive, and readily embraces change.Ability to communicate professionally during all interfaces.Written and verbal communication skills.Required Technical SkillsStrong electrical/mechanical knowledge including PLCs, drive systems, piping systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.Strong working knowledge of proper piping systems and installation techniques, including threaded and welded pipe.Read and comprehend electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and capable of using motorized equipment (i.e., forklifts, tuggers, jig lift, etc.)Preferred Technical SkillsMinimum of 2 years industrial electrical/mechanical experience preferred. A 2-year electrical or electro-mechanical degree from an accredited school is preferred, but not required.
