Field Maintenance Technician

General Responsibilities could include:
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment for repair or transportation.
- Construct and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors and tram rails.
- Determine which machines, techniques, and tools to use when moving equipment and completing jobs.
- Use rigging equipment and cranes to position and secure large metal pieces
- Use calipers and other measuring instruments to ensure precise measurements
- Work with a range of hand tools including measuring tools, welding and brazing equipment.
- Perform pipe threading and welding for plumbing and construction projects
- Operate machinery and tools for cutting, grinding, and machining metal
- Perform and inspect welding and soldering tasks
- Read and interpret plan documents and/or blueprints to determine specifications, scope of work, locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required
- Layout, fabricate, thread, bend, and install pipe
- Flame cut pipe to length and bevel, clean and prepare pipe for fit-up
- Performs layout, rigging and transportation of pipe, valves and fittings
- Properly select and use manual, pneumatic, and electric tools according to tasks
- Loads, transports and unloads material, tools, equipment and supplies
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent- TIG Welding experience in an industrial setting
- OSHA 10/30 Training or Certification
- Professional experience as a Millwright and/or completion of an accredited millwright training program
- Pipefitting experience in an industrial setting
- Knowledge of industry standard concepts, practices, and procedures
