**Position Overview:** The International Transportation Supervisor oversees the efficient day to day operation of the Import Transportation Team within Ollie's Transportation Department.
**Responsibilities:**
* Maintain and support a team-oriented environment as set by the Senior Manager of Imports. Ensure cooperation between team members.
* Ensure department level compliance with key company standards of safety and good work ethic.
* Directly work with the team to meet the daily needs and changes of the business.
* Proactively establish and investigate all cost savings opportunities.
* Effectively communicate with other Supervisors and Managers in the Distribution Center(s) along with Purchasing team to ensure best practices are followed in regard to Import transportation activities and responsibilities.
* Daily supervision of the freight forwarder and Customs Brokers' activities.
* Assist Customs Broker with Custom Compliance issues
* Complete all internal reporting processes timely and accurately.
* Assist the Senior Manager with interviewing and selecting talent and the new hire training program.
* Provide coaching, counseling and progressive discipline as deemed necessary.
* Additional responsibilities to be determined as business needs arise.
**Qualifications:**
* High School diploma or equivalent required.
* Higher education, including two and four year degrees related to business management or supply chain preferred, but not required.
* One to two years' experience in a supervisor role in a related field, or demonstration of skills and learning through an internal development program and selection process.
* One to two years' experience in an international transportation environment required.
* Experience dealing with ocean carriers and freight forwarders.
* Possess the ability to effectively manage in a professional work environment.
* Ability to maintain confidential information.
* The ability to exercise sound judgement by matching the urgency and requirements of a situation.
* Efficient planning, prioritization and implementation of detailed instructions.
* The ability to learn and communicate new information and processes to all associates within company standards.
* Outstanding interpersonal and listening skills.
* Intermediate Microsoft Office skills to include Excel are required.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
* Ability to travel from time to time as business needs arise.
**Physical Requirements:**
* Ability to sit for extended periods.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings.
* Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
