GI Lab Tech, Melrose Park, IL Loyola Medicine Full time, Day Shift What You Will Do Set up procedure rooms and equipment before and after each procedure; perform cleaning and disinfection of work surfaces. Utilize personal protective equipment. Assist Registered Nurses and physicians with endoscopic procedures, endotherapy, and obtaining laboratory specimens. Assist with transportation of patients to and from procedure rooms, pre- or post-procedure areas. Assist in turning and positioning patients; apply monitoring equipment, oxygen, and suctioning under RN supervision. Assist RNs in the pre- and post-procedural area: clean and dress procedure carts, escort discharged patients to exit via wheelchair, and collect vital signs and urine specimens. Perform pre cleaning, manual cleaning, and high-level disinfection of endoscopes and accessories. Perform errands and stocking: deliver laboratory specimens, stock work areas with required equipment and linen, maintain procedure area by breaking down boxes, and deliver or pick up equipment from other areas.
