Behavior Specialist: OnPoint is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Specialist to provide and monitor Autism and Family Support Services in accordance with Michigan Medicaid behavioral health treatment requirements. The Behavior Specialist will ensure that children and families with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnoses receive medically necessary, high-quality services, utilizing evidence-based interventions. This role also involves supporting the agency and community by offering ongoing training and consultation based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering exceptional care and support while fostering positive outcomes for individuals with ASD and their families. 

PAY RANGE/BENEFIT PACKAGE:  

Salary: starting at $57,942.86 up to $79,961.14 annually - placement above minimum salary is based on experience.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Master's degree in relevant field with appropriate licensure required.  

    • BCBA Certification/Licensure or eligible to complete certification in compliance with an established timeline required.   

      • Must currently be in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) required.  

        • Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders and their impact on families preferred.  

          • Experience working with adults living with an I/DD, including implementation of behavior support plans preferred.  

            • Experience in a variety of settings when working with individuals with ASD, including home, school, and other community-based settings preferred.  

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Provide Family Support and Training to clients with Autism and other behavior disorders.  

    • Provide behavioral support by attending Behavior Treatment Committee meetings, writing and implementing Behavior Plans and other assessments. 

      • Provide ongoing behavioral consultation with agency staff as assigned or appropriate based on current caseload. 

        • Oversee the review and approval of Provider ABA Intervention Plans. Ensure timely communication with providers on plans.   

          • Plan, oversee and facilitate family training groups. 

            • Plan, oversee and facilitate social skills groups for youth with autism as appropriate. 

              • Provide consultation and resources to parent peer groups as requested. 

                • Document services according to established standards.  

                  • Participate in utilization management and quality improvement processes.  

                    • Actively engage in supervision and team meetings.  

                      • Engage in internal and external care coordination efforts, including interdisciplinary team meetings.  

                        • Perform other duties as assigned.  

                          • NOTE: If not yet board certified, all services must be supervised and signed off by a board-certified behavior analyst in line with the Michigan Medicaid Manual. 

EQUIPMENT/TECHNOLOGY KNOWLEDGE:  

  • Efficient in Microsoft Word and Excel 

    • Efficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
