Summary The Director, Site Operations is responsible for managing plant operations at a person site. The incumbent ensures all key objectives are met and oversees performance for safety, quality, maintenance, cost, customer service, and employee engagement. This role leads day‑to‑day activities across all departments and drives a transformation to a high‑performing, team‑based environment. The leader partners strategically with internal and external customers, suppliers, and peers, inspiring trust, creating direction, driving decision‑making, building talent and culture, and executing with excellence to own results. Leadership & Principal Accountabilities Manage daily plant operations through direct reports. Ensure the operation meets key workplace objectives such as safety, employee engagement, and talent development and retention. Establish clear goals aligning the plant’s efforts with the organization’s vision and drive flawless execution of business objectives. Build organizational talent; attract, develop, and retain staff to maintain a competitively superior organization. Develop and implement long‑term strategic plans that support the corporate strategic roadmap and ensure the plant’s vitality. Create a culture of continuous improvement in production, quality, and cost; foster innovation and efficiency; monitor performance metrics and lead cross‑functional teams to sustainable improvements. Collaborate with various functions and business partners to drive plant and company initiatives, facilitate exemplary employee performance, and support company‑wide measurables. Proactively seek opportunities for cost reduction and improved productivity through process and performance improvements, waste reduction, and increased safety. Monitor key performance indicators to assess labor and variance to budget, yield dollars to budget, total delivered cost, and controllable expenses; create and lead action plans for any gaps. Champion quality, safety, and environmental policies; ensure compliance with all legislative and regulatory responsibilities. Establish governance to review and control operational performance and continuous improvement plans, embedding a zero‑loss mindset across the site. Lead and be accountable for all manufacturing standards, governance, and compliance requirements. Interface with key stakeholders throughout the organization. Scope & Complexity Production Management: Ensure production requirements are met safely, cost‑effectively, and with quality, in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Continuous Improvement: Inspire and encourage employees to execute improvement strategies; provide strategic direction for improvement priorities. Capital Planning: Develop and maintain the plant’s capital expense plans; execute capital plans by authoring or delegating requisitions. HR Compliance: Ensure HR policies and practices are adhered to fairly and consistently. Technical Issue Resolution: Identify, investigate, and resolve manufacturing process issues; lead root cause analysis with limited information and maintain final authority over decisions. Cost Reduction: Reduce “Total Delivered Cost” by coordinating efforts to increase efficiencies across all departments and functions. Communication: Communicate effectively with the workforce, managing unforeseen employee relations issues. Employee Relations: Manage nuances of effective employee relations and strategize plans to maintain high morale and engagement. Strategic Vision: Share the vision and business acumen to incorporate the company’s strategic roadmap into plant initiatives. Leadership: Directly lead the plant leadership team and collaborate with all functions in the plant and corporate supply chain stakeholders. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations or Business Management, Supply Chains or Logistics. 10+ years of experience in manufacturing and supply chain, with proven leadership in a high‑volume, complex facility or multi‑site environment. 5+ years of people management experience, demonstrating ability to lead diverse teams effectively in a high‑performance organization. 3+ years in a Plant Operations leadership role leading 300+ employees. Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Equipment Reliability, and Six Sigma. Prior experience managing and leading in a select non‑union/union environment. Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility. Six Sigma Black Belt Certification. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, driving performance and fostering continuous improvement. Proven experience in managing and developing talent, ensuring effective team dynamics and engagement. Solid business acumen and strategic decision‑making abilities. Excellent communication and project management skills. Strong understanding of QA, Food Safety, Safety Management, Logistics, and Warehouse Management. Highly proficient in MS Office and other digital productivity tools. Demonstrated ability to advance Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives through community engagement and servant leadership. Compensation and Benefits The target base salary range for this full‑time, salaried position is between $156,600–$225,200. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job‑related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401(k) and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
