Utilizes scientific principles as well as technical, procedural, and problem-solving aptitudes for day-to-day laboratory technical operations, quality control, and quality assurance.****Pay Range:***The pay range for this position is listed below. Actual pay rate dependent upon experience.*$26.40 - $35.00**Schedule: Day shift****Evenings, weekends and holiday on call rotation.****QUALIFICATIONS:*** Transcript showing Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician degree* MLS-Medical Laboratory Scientist or MLT-American Medical Technologist (AMT) within 1 year or American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) within 1 year* One or two years related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.* Coordinates work flow with other team members to ensure a productive and efficient work environment.* Maintains confidentiality when dealing with all customers. **JOB ACCOUNTABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY*** Responsible for the day-to-day operations of lab instrumentation or disciplines including but not limited to: supply inventory, quality control, calibration, reagent preparation, etc. Initiates and follows through with corrective action.* Accurately performs basic to complex clinical lab tests and procedures utilizing theoretical knowledge and independent judgment in addition to established protocol, techniques and equipment manuals.* Communicates lab data and pertinent technical information to appropriate departments and individuals in an accurate and timely manner.* Critiques, correlates and differentiates results of tests and assesses the validity of results which appear usual, or which may differ significantly from previous results or expected values.* Participates with development of protocols, lab manuals, new instrumentation, lab CQI or other laboratory developmental activities.* Provides technical guidance to and is a primary resource for phlebotomy and lab assistants.* Provides instruction and/or performs specimen collection.* Maintains a general understanding of test theory as acquired through formal education, experience, and continuing education.**We offer comprehensive benefits such as:*** Health Insurance* Dental Insurance* Vision Insurance* Life Insurance* Short and Long Term Disability Insurance* Health Savings Account (HSA) with employer contribution* Retirement plan with employer match opportunities* Paid time off and extended sick leave* Employee Assistance Program* Employee Discounts* Employee Wellness Program* and many moreHendricks Hospital is an EEO employer.
