Big news Here are the following future salary increases for this classification: 5% on July 1, 2025 The Behavioral Health Division and Health Centers is offering an excellent employment opportunity with its three (3) Clinical Psychologist positions: One position in the Conservatorship’s Office One position in the Utilization Review Unit One position in the Pittsburg Health Center Conservatorship’s Office The Clinical Psychologist in the Conservatorship’s Office is responsible for evaluating clients for diagnosis and grave disability, then testifying in court about these issues. The Psychologist will be performing various kinds of testing such as risk or differential diagnosis. They may also be appointed as Deputy Conservators. Utilization Review Unit The Utilization Review Unit performs concurrent reviews, which is a chart review process outlined by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). The DHCS requires Mental Health Plans to respond to all requests for inpatient psychiatric admissions within twenty-four hours, including weekends and holidays. The Clinical Psychologist will be responsible for performing inpatient chart reviews and remaining in compliance with Mental Health Plan state regulations. Pittsburg Health Center Contra Costa Health provides quality health care to the public at many convenient locations. The Clinical Psychologist will be responsible for providing behavioral health intervention, intakes, brief therapy, and assistance with linkage to follow up care for mild to moderately impaired patients at the Pittsburg Health Center. Additionally, providing assistance with brief therapy at other clinic locations throughout the County, as needed. We are looking for someone who: Has a significant working knowledge of psychological testing administration and report writing Has a positive communication style, both verbally and in writing, & communicates clearly and professionally with staff and community providers Works effectively as a team member and effectively analyzes and prioritizes situations Acknowledges and respects cultural and linguistic differences of diverse populations Understands the community we serve and can be mindful of their values What you will typically be responsible for: Conducting psychological evaluations including diagnosis and treatment recommendations Performing psychotherapeutic interventions in groups, individual, and family situations Selecting, administering, and interpreting a variety of standardized screening and psychological measures Providing consultative services to medical staff, behavioral health staff, and community agencies Testifying in court as an expert witness in psychology, grave disability, and/or other areas of expertise Providing clinical supervision to graduate students/interns pursuing a advanced degree or state licensure A few reasons why you might love this job: There is a great amount of variety in the work. Out-of-state valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license will be accepted during the application process. Possession of a valid license as a Psychologist issued by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Psychology. Education: Possession of a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D or Psy.D) in Psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited educational institution. Experience: One (1) year of full-time, or its equivalent, experience providing psychological and behavioral health services in a medical setting or specialty behavioral health unit. This one (1) year may include pre or postdoctoral experience. Additional Requirement: For positions allocated to Hospital and Health Centers, clinical psychologists shall be credentialed and privileged by Medical Staff Credentials Committee. For positions allocated to Behavioral Health Services, clinical psychologists shall be credentialed and privileged by Behavioral Health Services Provider Services.
