Senior Data Engineer - Financial Substantiation Platform (Hybrid) Join GEICO as a Senior Data Engineer and help build the Financial Data Integrity Substantiation Platform. This role focuses on building and managing critical data reconciliation systems that ensure the accuracy, reliability, and scalability of financial data across global systems. Base Pay Range $100,000.00/yr - $215,000.00/yr Responsibilities Contribute to the design and implementation of high-performance, scalable reconciliation systems capable of processing billions of transactions daily. Participate in making technical decisions that balance immediate business needs with long-term scalability and maintainability. Work with cross‑functional teams to integrate the platform with various financial systems, ERPs, and data warehouses. Develop core components of the substantiation platform, writing high‑quality, efficient code. Follow and help improve best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment. Collaborate with Finance, Compliance, and Business Intelligence teams to implement technical solutions for complex business requirements. Work with Product Management to implement features that deliver maximum impact. Explain technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, economics or related field. 5+ years of experience in Data and/or Software engineering. 5+ years of experience in one or more relevant backend programming languages, such as Java and/or Go. 2+ years of experience building products in modern architecture (SOA & microservices) and extensible REST APIs. 3+ years of experience with tools like Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Experience in SQL, NoSQL, relational database design and efficient methods for data retrieval and preparation at scale. Proven ability to collect and process raw data at scale, including scripting, API integration, and SQL querying. Experience with data modeling, ETL processes and query languages (Python, PySpark, and SQL) with data warehouse. Experience with Agile development practices.
