The Technical Specialist is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, and documenting requirements and/or functional specifications as needed, including the determination of regulatory impact and system impact. Participate with customers and internal functional areas as appropriate throughout the development, testing, and installation processes. Research and evaluate alternative approaches and recommend efficient and cost-effective solutions. The individual contributes to activities to improve quality and advance the overall analysis practice throughout the organization. The ideal candidate must possess a strong desire to develop technical and business knowledge relative to the implementation of insurance processing. What Our Technical Specialist Will Do Provide technical support, guidance, and mentorship to Solution Specialist and Analysts at the project level Participate in Solution Analysis and Design of the software solution Contribute as needed to the development of customer-focused documentation for software solutions (e.g. wireframes, use cases, business rules, etc.) Work with Solution Manager and Project Manager on Solution Work Breakdown and Estimates Act as Subject Matter Expert across assigned projects in one area of the software application Understand and support new features and enhancements of the software application Assist Solution Specialist with defining technical configuration tasks against customer requirements Configuration of the complex software solution based on design documentation in accordance with estimates Develop and execute unit tests for configuration changes and assigned use cases Support User Acceptance Testing Assist team members with troubleshooting of issues using various tools (XML, SQL, Event Tracking, Audit Trail, Error Logs etc.) Proactively identify and escalate risks in project work, including proposed solutions, in a timely manner Accurately report on status of assigned work to Project Leadership Build and reinforce Professional Services best practices and methodologies Meet utilization and productivity goals as established Stay up to date on industry and job-related trends and best practices, including reading relevant publications, articles, blogs, etc. Other duties as assigned Who We're Looking For Perform the following skills at an advanced level: Analytical and critical thinking Written and oral English communication Time management including work planning, prioritization, and organization Ability to handle multiple priorities or tasks Self-starter and quick learner Detail-oriented Active listener Ability to collaborate and work autonomously Flexible and adaptable Process analysis, design, and management Change management Coaching, training, and mentoring Ability to articulately present information Meeting facilitation and management Ability to identify and recommend industry and discipline best practices Proficient insurance industry knowledge Kaplan Insurance training or equivalent Nice to have: AINS21 AINS23 SQL Advanced knowledge and experience with: Database design concepts Web services MS Office Exposure to other Insurity modules Knowledge of Insurity processes, procedures, and tools Knowledge of multiple lines of business applicable functional areas XML/XSLT Advanced knowledge of withal application modules with understanding of integration points Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. 2+ years of P&C insurance experience including industry operation, policy administration regulation, and compliance. 4 years of business analysis experience Prior experience with Sure MGA (formerly ConceptOne) strongly preferred What's In It For U Work Where You Thrive Find the work environment that supports your bestwhether that's remote, in-office, or hybriddepending on your role and location. Along with the benefits listed above, the career level salary range for this role is $70,000 to $135,000. We share a career level salary as a guideline; however, actual salary may vary based on your experience and qualifications.
