Compensation: All-inclusive rate (No travel or lodging provided)

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Psychiatrist with a focus on civil or forensic psychiatry for a locum tenens assignment at a major facility in Florida. This is a full-time position with the possibility of extending for up to 1 year.

Key Details:

  • Start Date: As soon as credentialed (approximately 2 to 4 weeks)
  • Contract Length: Up to 1 year with potential for extension
  • Schedule: Full-time
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of forensic, inpatient, or correctional psychiatry experience required

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct psychiatric services to DCF residents, including examinations, diagnosis, medication management, psychotherapy, and physical health management.
  • Manage minor and major medical conditions, participate in discharge planning, and refer patients for additional testing or treatment as necessary.
  • Perform rounds and document patient progress.
  • Maintain documentation in compliance with DCF/FSH policies and standards.

Requirements:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible
  • Active medical license
  • Strong background in forensic, inpatient, or correctional care
  • Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
