Physician (Primary Care) U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Base pay range: $230,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yr Summary: The Miami VA Healthcare System's Ambulatory Care Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Physician (Primary Care). Ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards and the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program. You must be an excellent communicator and team player who is adaptable to the needs of a growing medical center. Qualifications United States Citizenship. Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree in medicine/osteopathic medicine from a school approved by VA. Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or D.C. Completed residency training in an VA-approved accredited core specialty program leading to eligibility for board certification. Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Preferred experience: Internal Medicine. Physical requirements: Pass pre‑employment physical examination (moderate lifting up to 44 lbs., etc.). Duties Part of Education Debt Reduction Program – eligible for up to $200,000 repayment and up to 5 years, subject to VHA policy. Provide primary care services, including patient visits, PACT panel duties, secure messaging, case management, and paperwork. Coordinate diagnostic testing and assist in problem resolution of complex cases. Collaborate with mid-level providers and document in electronic medical record (CPRS). Support general mission of the Medical Center (e.g., mass casualty drills, disaster support). Perform chart review for quality improvement when no coverage duties. Supervise medical students, residents, and fellows. Work schedule: Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑4:30 pm (shifts may vary).
