Overview Join Metro Credit Union as a strategic HR leader driving innovation and operational excellence Designs, implements, and manages Metro Credit Union’s HR Operations, including total rewards, payroll, systems, and data. Drives alignment with organizational objectives, leads a team with in-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, benefits administration, and a strong commitment to maintaining compliance and regulatory requirements while building efficiency into day-to-day operations. Human Resources Operations Champion the strategic communication of HR Operations programs to employees and leaders, aligning messaging with organizational goals to drive engagement, retention, and performance. Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing HR Operations team, fostering collaboration and excellence. Provide hands‑on leadership during peak periods such as open enrollment, audits, and year‑end processing. Systems, Data, and Processes Identify and implement scalable, cost‑effective solutions to improve operational efficiency, focusing on infrastructure, automation, and technology. Oversee audit and compliance processes, ensuring adherence to labor laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Promote a strong control environment and continuous improvement. Lead HR analytics and reporting, using data to assess program effectiveness, enhance decision making, uncover trends, and recommend improvements. Share insights regularly with the People team and senior leadership. Total Rewards Management Direct the design, delivery, and administration of benefits programs including health, wellness, retirement, leaves, and ancillary offerings. Evaluate and recommend innovative benefits to enhance the employee experience and strengthen the value proposition, ensuring full regulatory compliance. Partner with brokers, carriers, and vendors to negotiate cost‑effective, high‑quality offerings aligned with organizational goals. Collaborate with the rest of our People leadership to enhance and evolve our compensation philosophy and practices, supporting a competitive and comprehensive total rewards strategy. Payroll Management Lead payroll strategy, operations, and compliance across multiple locations and states. Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including taxes, deductions, and reporting, aligned with organizational priorities and legal requirements. Drive operational excellence through technology and automation, continuously improving payroll efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Supervisory Responsibilities Manages the HR Operations team, including Payroll and Benefits, and provides mentorship and support to the broader People team. Education And Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience strongly preferred. Minimum of 8 years of HR Operations experience, including total rewards, systems, and data. Demonstrated prior experience building strong, trusted relationships with multiple leaders and employees within an organization strongly preferred. Prior experience leading and developing a team. Demonstrated prior experience being flexible and agile, adapting to the changing needs of a dynamic environment strongly preferred. Proven prior experience coaching, influencing, and partnering with various levels of leaders and employees strongly preferred. Skills/Knowledge/Certifications Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in benefits, compensation, payroll, HR systems and operations, and compliance. Proven ability to use a consultative approach and persuasive communication with stakeholders across the organization. Ability to demonstrate alignment to company values, along with the capability to hire, lead, develop, and motivate a team. Excellent judgment skills and ability to balance the needs of the company, managers, and employees. Excellent conflict resolution and problem‑solving skills. Ability to prioritize initiatives based on the evolving needs of the company, making consistently strategic recommendations to company leadership. Ability to work within a fast‑paced, hybrid, evolving work environment. Ability to work in and manage ambiguity, including dealing effectively with issues that do not always have a process, system, or solution in place. Working Conditions/Physical Demands General office environment. Frequent computer use. Periods of being highly stationary.
