The School of Nursing offers an RN to BSN completion program, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program, and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program. Both the RN-BSN and MSN programs are designed for professional nurses seeking to continue, complete, or advance their formal education. The baccalaureate and master's degree programs in nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Additionally, the four-year BSN program has full approval from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
Job Description:
The College is seeking a full-time, 9-month Chair for the RN-BSN and MSN programs, with summer program oversight required. This faculty position primarily involves teaching in the RN-BSN and MSN, with the possibility of teaching across other programs as needed. The position begins on January 2, 2025.
The Chair of the programs are expected to participate in the governance of both Emmanuel College and the School of Nursing as appropriate. Faculty responsibilities include developing, implementing, and evaluating policies, conducting systematic evaluations and data analysis, and identifying and implementing areas for improvement. Additionally, they contribute to the development and evaluation of the curriculum plan and assess students' achievement of nursing competencies. Taking a leadership role to implement the essentials in the programs is a priority.
The Chair of these programs is expected to teach, advise, mentor, and evaluate students. They will also participate in service activities for the university, School of Nursing, the community, and the profession, as well as maintain a program of scholarly activities. Responsibilities for delivering face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online learning experiences aimed at meeting student and program learning outcomes. Applicants should have strong teaching skills with the ability to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels in an on-line and in person format. Experience in curriculum development and CCNE accreditation is strongly preferred.
The Chair of the RN-BSN and MSN programs provides leadership, vision, and advocacy for students and faculty. The Chair's responsibilities include:
* Reviewing and evaluating program goals, course goals and objectives within the RN-BSN and MSN programs to ensure curricular quality in collaboration with faculty and the Dean.
* Assigning courses and facilitating the hiring of appropriate faculty and student employees.
* Mentoring faculty, particularly junior members, to support their development in teaching, scholarship, and service.
* Promoting and overseeing program assessment and evaluation, including submitting annual reports and faculty evaluations to the Dean, managing self-studies and external reviews, and supporting faculty in proposing new courses and programs.
* Recommending the yearly School of Nursing budget in cooperation with the Dean.
* Arranging faculty representation at relevant college events and providing updates to the College catalog and website.
Requirements:
Applicants must have a Massachusetts licensure in good standing; possess an earned baccalaureate and master's degree in nursing. DNP or PhD is required. Experienced teaching in higher education required. Curriculum experience desired. On-line teaching experience preferred.
