Job Title: Sales Manager


Carstens is a woman-owned and family-owned company that manufactures and distributes top of the line quality office supplies and furniture equipment products for the healthcare, education and business markets. We manufacture products that are designed to simplify workflows between patients and caregivers, teachers and students and office work teams. We take great pride in manufacturing our products in the United States at our factory in Harwood Heights, IL.

POSITION SUMMARY

Working with the Sales SVP, the Sales Manager is responsible for a set of accounts, functioning as the main day-to-day point of contact for customers and relevant internal teams such as Customer Service, Accounting and Marketing. This individual will be responsible for managing, forecasting, and growing the sales, lead generation and overall health of an assigned geography and/or account base. Additionally, the Sales Manager will work closely with the SVP on coordinating and improving processes and implementing sales technology and tools.    


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain relationships with the stakeholders and decision makers at key accounts, acting as a vendor resource and proactively providing them with product solutions and value-add insight and services
  • Develop, maintain, and execute against sales objectives and goals, working toward meeting and exceeding those
  • Have a role in company efforts to integrate offline and online sales processes and programs
  • Plan daily tasks in accordance with business needs and forecasts in collaboration with Sales SVP
  • Regular reporting and maintenance of sales records as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned


REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar manufacturing sales role required

Experience working with healthcare customers/accounts a plus

  • Excellent people skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to motivate people
  • Excellent oral, written and listening communication skills.
  • Ability to adjust communication style to multiple audiences/stake holders/decision makers
  • Ability to change priorities to meet changing demands and adjust quickly to new responsibilities and tasks
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time
  • Ability to work flexible and additional hours as needed


COMPUTER SKILLS

To successfully perform the essential responsibilities of the job, candidate must possess the following computer and program skills:

  • Overall comfort navigating through multiple windows, screens and/or programs simultaneously

Required

  • Proficiency in working in a multi-function ERP environment - Carstens currently uses the Acumatica platform
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Outlook, Word and Teams
  • Experience managing sales alongside online sales platforms such as Shopify and Amazon
  • Experience in Lead generation platforms such as constructconnect plus
