Assistant Professor of HPB/GI Surgery Location: Baltimore, MD Join to apply for the Assistant Professor of HPB/GI Surgery role at Johns Hopkins University. Responsibilities General Academic and Teaching: Expected to devote part of your time to formal and informal instruction of medical students and post‑graduate trainees in Surgery; mentor fellows, students, residents, and faculty; participate in resident teaching and education, attend division conferences, participate in national organizations, produce scholarly output, uphold the code of conduct for faculty; participate in weekly morbidity and mortality conference, staff and resident education conference, faculty meetings, grand rounds, and division faculty meetings. Clinical: Provide clinical services commensurate with your skills in Hepatobiliary Surgery and Surgical Oncology Gastrointestinal at a clinical commitment of 25% effort (~1.5 days/week). Research: Dedicate 75% of your time to research in the Vogelstein Lab; secure extramural sponsored funding in year 2 and onward to support protected time; research effort adjusted to align with funding. Quality: Responsible for quality improvement and assurance efforts in your division. Citizenship: Fulfill all obligations as indicated by the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Gold Book and Clinical Practice Association (CPA).
