BEPC is actively looking for an Epidemiologist I in South San Francisco, CA. Contract – 1 year with possible extensions. Benefits: medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Pay Rate: $60.00 - $65.07 /hour – determined based on experience. Work Model: Onsite role. Note: This is a W2 only role – C2C, C2H will not be considered. BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Epidemiologist I to join our client’s site in South San Francisco, CA. This role supports the Population Health Insights team and focuses on providing evidence‑based epidemiological expertise throughout the product lifecycle. Primary responsibilities include generating, validating, and managing epidemiology data and forecasts to support access initiatives, strategic planning, and business development. The position requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external epidemiology data providers. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: Epidemiology Forecasting: Generate and maintain epidemiological patient forecasts for assigned disease/therapeutic areas, supporting all clinical development stages and informing business planning. Population Health Analyses: Develop advanced population health analyses, including population-level and subgroup modeling. Advanced Programming: Develop and maintain R code for new epidemiology forecasts using the new digital system. Publication: Identify, assess, and utilize high-quality epidemiological data sources to create validated target population models; publish and present epidemiology and population health analyses externally. Cross‑Functional Alignment: Lead alignment discussions and collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency on epidemiological data and assumptions across the product lifecycle. Operational Excellence & Digitalization: Support implementation of new ways of working, including digitalization efforts to streamline data analysis, sharing, and forecasting processes. Knowledge Management & Access Excellence: Develop knowledge management tools, insights‑sharing practices, and support access excellence by collecting, analyzing, storing, and sharing access‑related data. Organizational Evolution: Contribute to improving patient access and outcomes by identifying gaps and opportunities and supporting an outcome‑focused, agile organizational approach. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Statistics, Biology, Health Sciences, Population Health, Pharmacology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related scientific field. 4 years of hands‑on experience in epidemiology, population health, health outcomes research, or related analytical work. Experience may include academic research, public health studies, data analysis, or work within pharma/CRO environments. Preferred Qualifications: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and statistical programs such as R or SAS. Strong knowledge of epidemiological principles and methodologies. Strong knowledge of national and international health statistics, surveillance data, and health surveys in defined disease areas, including strengths and weaknesses. Familiarity with literature reviews and evidence synthesis (e.g., meta‑analyses). Experience designing, conducting, analyzing, and interpreting epidemiological studies and/or Real‑World Data (RWD) studies. Knowledge or experience within the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Fluency in English, both oral and written.
