Facility Summary We are looking for a Director of Operations to lead our growing site in Redmond, OR. The site has $250 M in annual sales and employs over 800 staff. Job Summary The Director of Operations is responsible for leading one of our manufacturing plants, ensuring the highest level of safety for our employees, quality and service for our customers, and using Lean Manufacturing and Servant Leadership to achieve the P&L targets. The incumbent aligns people, processes, measurements and efforts across the plant with focus areas of safety, delivery, quality and cost, while also creating a positive organizational culture and developing a strong bench of leader talent. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with overall business objectives. Collaborate with executive leadership to define and execute manufacturing goals and priorities. Develop production leadership team through talent management initiatives and ensure succession plans are in place for key roles. Oversee the development and execution of production schedules to meet customer demand and inventory targets. Optimize production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost‑effectiveness. Manage and allocate resources—including personnel, equipment, and materials—to meet production targets. Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. Establish and enforce quality control standards to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations. Implement and maintain quality management systems. Develop and manage budgets for manufacturing operations. Identify cost‑saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing costs. Stay current with technological advancements in manufacturing and implement relevant technologies. Lead, motivate, and develop a high‑performing manufacturing team. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Work closely with other departments—such as supply chain, engineering, and quality assurance—to ensure seamless coordination and communication. Ensure manufacturing operations comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices. Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate manufacturing performance. Analyze data to identify trends, address issues, and drive continuous improvement. Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements: 10 years minimum in operations. 5 years minimum as Plant Manager with > 500 employees. Solid knowledge in Lean Manufacturing and Daily Management. Proven track record of utilizing Lean tools daily. Servant leadership approach. Strong problem‑solving skills. Additional Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, or a related field. Extensive experience in heavy or industrial equipment manufacturing leadership roles. Experience with custom fabrication and process sophistication preferred. Previous HVAC manufacturing experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities High‑energy leader who can motivate the team. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality, and supply chain management. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to make strategic decisions and solve complex problems. Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards. Proficiency in using manufacturing software and systems. Work Environment Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb, stoop, walk and sit for prolonged periods. Ability to work in manufacturing facilities and be exposed to varying and extreme temperatures, loud noises, dust, chemical fumes, sharp metal objects and heavy forklift traffic. Frequent travel to other locations (up to 25% of time).
