**Job Summary**

Establishes and manages a high performing new product project management team. Responsible for overseeing, planning, directing, managing the new product development processes. Provide leadership working with global cross-functional team members with emphasis on meeting key metrics and objectives (quality, cost and duration). Drive continuous improvement with processes to ensure best in class project management execution and team development.

**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**

* (100%) Manager (New Product Introduction)

+ Model the Spectrum Brands Values and Behaviors

+ Lead team that manages new product introduction projects with focus on meeting objectives including but not limited to cost, quality and timing.

+ Mentor, coach and develop team members

+ Drive continuous improvement with processes to ensure best in class project management execution

+ Ensures adherence to the new product roadmap, project milestone process and metrics

+ Serve as a program manager on strategic projects and reports out monthly to Senior Management at Product Development Reviews

+ His/Her team will collaborate with cross functional departments such as Engineering, Manufacturing Sites, Industrial Design, Packaging, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance and Marketing

+ His/Her team will assure manufacturing process capabilities are evaluated, communicated and integrated into the overall product design (DFM...Design for Manufacturability)

+ His/Her team will develop and execute manufacturing plans for new products

+ His/Her team will maintain communication channels with plant management staff and NPI team leaders regarding project status and network/production strategies

+ His/Her team will manage/report out on projects in all areas including funding, product costs, product quality, productivity, safety, ergonomic, environmental, space and timing limitations

+ His/Her team will execute risk management via identification, quantification, response development and control

**Education and Experience Profile**

* 10+ years of combined experience in relevant field: manufacturing, operations, engineering

* 7+ years experience with (NPI) New Product Introduction

* Bachelors degree in business or technical field (Engineering or Operations)

* MBA or advanced degree desired

* Certified Project Manager Certificate desirable, but not required

**Required Skills**

* Advanced working knowledge of project milestones methodology

* Advanced Project management skills utilizing Microsoft Project or similar software

* Proactive problem-solving identification: solving problems with the ability to assess risk/benefit and to act decisively on findings

* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization

* Effective computer skills familiar with Microsoft Windows applications, especially, Project, Word, Excel and Outlook

* Must be able to work and thrive in a global team-based environment

* High level of organizational skills

* Leadership and Team Building skill sets

* Ability to effectively navigate high complexity projects

* A general understanding of zinc die casting, stamping, forging, automated assembly, metal finishing are pluses
