ENGINEERING MANAGER

REPORT TO: Division Manager



PURPOSE

Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of engineering relating to design and development of tooling, automation of equipment, new processes. Ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Maintain discipline, morale, harmonious personnel relations; handle complaints in accordance with company policy; conduct employee performance evaluations; make effective recommendations for increases, promotions, transfers, and termination's.



Plan, layout and assign work according to schedule and individual skills and abilities for most efficient quality operations; follow setup and progress of work; anticipate or investigate delays or inadequate performance and take corrective action.



Plan, promote, and organize training activities for engineering personnel; conduct training classes as required.



Generate drawings, process, product and project records; produce and distribute appropriate reports.



Develop, revise and maintain manuals and work instructions; develop computer oriented systems to process data; maintain records and compliance.



Interpret contracts, blueprints, government requirements, control plans and the like.



Act as liaison between the Healthcare Division and customer when necessary.



Direct and document meetings with departments to outline plan of action, assign tasks, responsibilities, follow up and communications; ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.



Supervise prototyping and new job introduction; participate in APQP team activities.



Review and approve cost analysis calculations and data for product and tooling quotations.



Plan and formulate aspects of research and development proposals such as objective or purpose of project, application that can be utilized from findings, costs of project, and equipment and human resource requirements.



Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.





ADDITONAL SKILLS OR CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
Experience working with polymers and understanding of the rubber molding process highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and project management.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
Knowledge of manufacturing operations and equipment.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and other engineering tools.
Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory requirements, such as ISO standards.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.





Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to position or move, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Must be able to be on feet for extended periods of time, up to and exceeding 8 hours.
