INPATIENT HEMATOLOGY ONCOLOGY NURSE PRACTITIONER / PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIAIntroduction to the Role and Practice Centra Medical Group has an opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hematology Oncology Hospitalist Group. Qualified candidates must possess a master's degree, current licensure, and a strong desire to make a difference in our patient’s lives by providing excellent compassionate care. Oncology/Hematology experience is required. This new and exciting position offers the opportunity to work with a talented team of hematologists/oncologists and advanced practice staff. The position is Monday through Friday, 8am – 4:30pm. Job Summary Includes: Consultation with new admissions and follow up patient rounds.Manage acute and chronic symptoms, treatment side effects and oncologic emergencies in collaboration with hematologists/oncologists. Evaluate laboratory results, adjust supportive care plans and coordinate discharge planning with hospitalists and care team.
