Behavioral Health Specialist – Young AdultNewport Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Specialist to serve as part of our adolescent and young adult programs. At Newport Healthcare, you won’t just find a job—you’ll discover a fulfilling career path in the mental health field.ResponsibilitiesCreate a safe and supportive space by offering consistent, compassionate care and supervision.Guide and encourage patients through daily activities, including therapy, group work, meals, and transitions.Lead or support experiential activities (e.g., mindfulness, recreation, group engagement).Model calm, respectful behavior and healthy coping strategies to build trust and emotional safety.Document observations and interactions clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner for treatment planning.Maintain calm during high‑stress or emotionally charged situations and restore stability through established strategies.Collaborate with team members to maintain a connected, unified care environment.Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality, maintaining patient dignity and respect.Participate in ongoing training and development to provide trauma‑informed, values‑based care.Safely transport patients to and from program sites and external appointments following safety protocols.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required.Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, counseling, or sociology preferred.Prior work experience in other behavioral treatment settings is a plus.Valid driver’s license and eligibility for company vehicle insurance required.Minimum 21 years of age.CPR and CPI certification within the first 30 days.Compensation and BenefitsHourly rate ranges from $18.00 to $22.00, depending on education and experience.Benefits include:Medical, Dental, Vision coverageCompany‑paid life insuranceVoluntary STD/LTD coverageFlexible Spending Accounts401(k)PTO/Sick leaveEmployment InformationLocation: Tustin, CASeniority level: Entry levelEmployment type: Full‑timeJob function: Health Care ProviderEqual Employment OpportunityNewport Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
