he Manager of Continuous Improvement will collaborate with a diverse team of company resources to identify, develop and/or support projects focused on process improvements. Projects may be specific to discrete business processes or departments or span the entire value chain including Sales & Marketing, Customer Service, Planning, Pricing, Order Management, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, Inventory Control, Warehousing, Logistics, Transportation, Finance, and Accounting


Specific Duties:
• Develops and promotes a Continuous Improvement charter that is focused on addressing
business needs among all functional areas.
• Influences and creates a work culture where Continuous Improvement is a part of the
ongoing operational methodology.
• Facilitates the evaluation of work streams through process mapping and gap analysis to
identify deficiencies in business processes and highlights key opportunities to eliminate
waste and improve efficiency.
• Based on records, data, reports of operational performance, and interviews with senior
and departmental leaders, formulates business cases for select targeted improvement
areas and prioritize them in alignment with the strategic business operating plan.
• Shares Lean and Continuous Improvement best practices throughout the organization.
• Focuses the plant organization on improvement through Kaizen (or other) employee
engagement techniques.
• Supports or drives solution implementation through process reengineering and technical
tools adoption.
• Translates business objectives into actionable tasks and guides them to fruition, serving
as a project manager for some initiatives as needed.
• Is a resource for all business teams across the enterprise by guiding analysis to identify
potential short-, mid-, and long-term gains.
Essential Job Functions
Qualifications:
• Must be able to work well in a team environment and have strong interpersonal
capabilities to work cross-functionally.
• Must be comfortable working with individuals from diverse national, cultural, and ethnic
backgrounds.
• Must have the ability to build consensus, use active listening skills, and work successfully
in concert with others to promote positive change and a culture of teamwork, excellence,
and integrity.
• Must be willing to coach and mentor all levels of the organization to foster support and
ensure effectiveness of organizational or technical change.
Education and/or Experience:

Holds a bachelor's degree from an accredited University.
Or in lieu of a degree, has relevant experience in facilitating and leading Continuous
Improvement efforts.
Has previous project management experience; high-level team/project leadership experience a
plus.
Possesses a working knowledge of the manufacturing process.
Has knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma and/or other (TPM, TQM, etc.) Continuous Improvement
techniques.
Language:
• Has the ability to read, write and speak English. Knowledge of the Spanish language
would be a plus.
• Can effectively communicate the company’s Continuous Improvement philosophy, vision,
and expectations.
• Employs excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills and organization
skills, to report process improvement status, and comfortably present to individuals,
small and large groups at all levels of the organization from shopfloor to CEO.
Mathematical Skills:
• Demonstrates good general numerical aptitude and has proficiency in working with
spreadsheets.
• Supports risk assessments, calculates savings potential, and assists with ROI
development for software purchases and projects.
• Tracks and reports key metrics on Lean activities throughout the organization.
Reasoning:
• Analyzes and recommends improvements for current best practices and SOPs.
• Analyzes data and recommends report development to measure relevant KPIs.
• Applies problem solving methodologies to craft process improvement strategies,
corrective action plans, and training/skills development plans.
Other Skills and Abilities:
• Is a self-starter who can work independently under pressure, react quickly, and handle
multiple tasks concurrently.
• Has excellent analytical, and time management skills and is detail oriented.
• Demonstrates strong leadership in the areas of change management and accountability.
• Is proficient in MS Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, experience with MS
Project and Visio, ERP systems, and other data management and analytical tools being
highly desirable.
Physical Demands:
In performance of their duties, the Manager of Continuous Improvement may be required to sit
or stand for long periods of time while in meetings, when charting processes, or when sharing
presentations.
Work Environment:
The Manager of Continuous Improvement may be required to spend time in cold, hot, or wet
environments while touring the facility or observing processes in the plant. Hearing protection
and other GMP-related wear is required per company policy. COVID-19 mitigation face masks
may be required. Refrigeration grade wearing apparel and/or steel-toed shoes are
recommended in some areas of the facility.
