Transportation Maintenance Mechanic

Incorportated in 1976, G&C Food Distributors is a Foods Service and Retail Re-Distributor of refrigerated, frozen, and dry food products located in Syracuse NY. G&C has grown to be one of the most respected re-distributors in the Eastern half of the United States, delivering to 28 states and 27 different countries.
Job Summary:
The Transportation Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for all maintenance on our fleet of over 160 trucks.
The Mechanic will be:
Performing preventative maintenance and required repairs on G&C owned diesel equipment such as Yard Trucks, Trailers, and Road Tractors.
Performing minor repairs to G&C Leased equipment when necessary.
Assist the Transportation Maintenance Supervisor with repairing the wash bay equipment.
Assist with the installation of TeleTrac ELD's, RFID tags, Ezpass, and Drive Cam equipment.
Assist with the installation and maintenance of trailer/dolly GPS tracking equipment.
Assist with maintenance of fuel and DEF pumps.
Assist with the collection of monthly equipment mileage/hours.
Assist with moving equipment for service purposes.
Assist with other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent customer services skills
Excellent Communication skills
Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Required/Preferred Experience:
0-6 of experience in Diesel Truck/Trailer Repair
Air Brake Certification Preferred
Diesel Engine Certification Preferred
Reefer Experience Preferred
NYS Drivers License Required
CDL A or CLD B Preferred
Inspectors License Preferred
Must have basic mechanic tools
