We are looking for a Lead Heavy Duty Mechanic (Evening) in Huntsville, TX.
- Responsible for overseeing a team of technicians during the evening shift in Huntsville, TX, ensuring equipment repairs meet safety standards and regulations.
- Required to possess expertise in maintaining and repairing diesel and non-diesel equipment, trucks, and refuse bodywork, including hydraulic, electrical, heating, and air conditioning systems.
Duties include identifying and resolving complex repair issues, providing guidance on diagnostic techniques, conducting safety compliance inspections, and coordinating repair schedules to optimize workshop efficiency and minimize downtime.
Directly reports to a Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
Compensation:$35 - $40 hourly
Responsibilities:- Oversee a team of technicians during the evening shift in Huntsville, TX to ensure equipment repairs comply with safety standards and regulations.
- Utilize maintenance and repair expertise on diesel and non-diesel equipment, trucks, and refuse bodywork, including hydraulic, electrical, heating, and air conditioning systems.
- Diagnose complex repair issues, offer guidance to technicians on diagnostic methods, conduct external repair inspections for safety compliance, and coordinate repair schedules to enhance workshop efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Report directly to a Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
- Experience performing inspections and repairs on heavy truck systems including Suspensions, Steering, General Engine, Transmissions, Brakes, Electrical, Hydraulics, Drive Train, and Diesel Emissions.
- Familiarity with OSHA Haz Com, Lock Out Tag Out, and fire protection regulations is advantageous.
- Previous supervisory or lead technician experience is beneficial.
- ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus.
- Possession of a valid Driver’s License.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working on heavy-duty trucks as a technician.
