Reporting to the Train Manager, the Onboard Cleaner is accountable to facilitate a continuous cleaning process onboard the train.
Key Areas of Accountability
Responsible for maintaining the highest standard of cleanliness throughout the entire train, working to make both guest facing coaches as well as crew areas neat and sanitary.
- Monitor, coordinate and perform cleaning duties in adherence to RM's cleanliness standards
- Continuous cleaning of all guest touchpoints:
- Restrooms (including garbage removal)
- Outdoor platform (weather related)
- Glass, door, railing, surface disinfecting
- Maintains targets with assigned tasks while looking for efficiencies and enhancements
- Maintain supply-crew car set-up, cleanliness, upkeep, and crew meals
- Order and distribute cleaning supplies onboard the train (prior to departure and during travel)
- Responsible for RM issued cleaning caddy
- Ensure Onboard team is aware of all guest facing cleanliness concerns
- Comfortable interacting and conversing with guests to ensure our welcoming environment is a seamless experience
- Assist the Onboard team as required, and as directed by Onboard management
- Report any damage or hazards to Onboard management
- Report any substandard conditions, problems, or health risks to Onboard management
- Adhere to Onboard radio protocols
- Adhere to our policies and procedures for the donning(wearing), doffing(removal), and disposal of personal protective equipment (PPE) to reduce or prevent exposures to hazards and other health risks
Safety
This role is deemed Safety Alert. This position requires the incumbent to periodically access an active railway area where impaired performance could result a significant incident affecting the health and safety of team members, guests, team members, the public, property or the environment.
Education, Certifications, Licenses
- Colorado Food Handler Certification is an asset
- Utah Food Handler Certification is an asset
- Experience as a Cleaner or Housekeeper in the hotel, travel, or tourism industry
- Attention to detail
- Time management and organization skills
- Fluency in English language is required
- Exceptional physical endurance and emotional resiliency with the ability to work long days
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Able to travel away from home base for up to 3 days at a time
- Able to work weekends and holidays
- Must be legally allowed to work in the United States until October 31, 2024
- Demonstrate pride in cleanliness standards achieved

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrates a professional, accountable, and responsible work ethic

- Salary: $18.50 an hour (Base Rate plus a service fee)
