General Summary of Duties:Housepersons will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all corridors and public areas in accordance with all housekeeping procedures, standards and safety and security rules and regulations to ensure guest satisfaction. They will assist housekeeping with the delivery of supplies to guestroom floors.Examples of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following): Make rounds through the halls each shift to ensure public areas are clean and tidy, taking care to remove or replace anything out of orderBe graciously attentive to guests, answering questions and getting additional help when it's neededCoordinate and help housekeeping with heavy lifting and priority requestsAssist with moving furniture as needed in guestrooms and hallways to facilitate general cleaningStocking room attendant carts with adequate supplies to complete assigned rooms and maintain an efficient cleaning cartPull linen and trash from housekeeping cartsSpot clean hallway and guestroom carpets as neededChecks and restocks cleaning, general supplies and linen as neededEnsure trash bins by guest elevators are emptied on a regular basisAssist with guest item deliveries as neededReport missing or found articles and any sign of damage or needed repair to Floor SupervisorClean furniture, elevators, glass, planters, etc. in public areas such as lobby, pool and public restrooms. Sweep and vacuum floors, hallways and stairwellsWork with machinery both indoors and outdoors including but not limited to; vacuum cleaners, electric and manual hand tools, and carpet-cleaning machines, floor buffers, etc.Complete daily assignment sheetPerform additional duties and projects as assignedPosition Requirements:Ability to speak, read, write and understand EnglishProfessional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environmentPrevious housekeeping experience preferredKnowledgeable on safe use of chemicals utilized within the housekeeping departmentKnowledge of proper floor care equipment, usage of mechanical cleaning equipment such as but not limited to vacuum cleaners, extractors, blowers, etc. Ability to communicate using a telephone, radio or any other electronic device issuedAbility to perform basic math skillsEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and guestsKnowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructionsEducation:High School education or equivalent preferred, but not required
